Data Hackathon Covid19 – DS&BDA 19-20

In the context of the 2019-20 edition of the Course Data Science and Big Data Analytics, the students participated to a classroom Data Hackathon. Focus of this task was the database of Covid19 Virus Spread, available at https://github.com/CSSEGISandData/COVID-19.

Eleven students joined this data hackathon.

Students enrolled were asked to:

  • Search for other Covid sources;
  • Use other datasets (also related to the population, such as census data and others) to improve their analysis

Main requirements for this Data Hackaton were:

  • Provide new ways of visualizing data (trends, prediction, and so forth).
  • Provide meaningful predictions and trends.

Students enrolled were suggested to:

  • Search for other Covid sources;
  • Use other datasets (also related to the population, such as census data and others) to improve their analysis

The objective of this activity has been to involve the students in the data science context and give them an insight of the importance of their role as data engineer and data scientist in the society. This hackathon (as all the lab activities) are not part of the final exam of this course.

Here is the list of the TOP 3 projects for this competition:

  1. Andrea Curtoni;
