Today start a classroom hackathon about Covid19. The competition deadline is Wednesday April 8 @ 1pm. Focus of this task will be the new database of Covid19 Virus Spread, available at https://github.com/CSSEGISandData/COVID-19.
All the students of the 2019/2020 edition of the Data Science and Big Data Analytics course are invited to join this hackathon.
Students enrolled should:
- Search for other Covid sources;
- Use other datasets (also related to the population, such as census data and others) to improve their analysis
Main requirements for this Data Hackaton are:
- Provide new ways of visualizing data (trends, prediction, and so forth).
- Provide meaningful predictions and trends.
Top 5 analyses can be selected for publication online on this Website.
The objective of this activity is to involve the students in the data science context and give them an insight of the importance of your role as data engineer and data scientist in the society. This hackaton (as all the lab activities) are not part of the final exam of this course (so do not worry about mistakes, just try to do it).
